If you were walking through Rome, it wouldn’t surprise you to find tons of tourists with their ubiquitous backpacks. What may surprise you is in Trastevere, one of the most famous Roman neighborhoods, you will now see them with their laptops. During the lunch hour, the trattorias and bars are full of tourists and locals alike, now checking email. This is because Fon has initiated a movement to being free wi-fi to Trastevere. The idea is residents and anyone else who arrives in the zone will be able free of charge to connect to Internet. It seems that soon it will meet its goal of equipping the entire zone, like in the Chueca, the quarter gay of Madrid.
